The squares, they need a home.

Strictly hand tools.
Made of poplar with shelf framed by mystery pallet wood.
I apologize for not having progress shots. I started piddling, never thinking it would result in something useful.

They asked for a home by way of sending the Starrett combination square to plummet off the bench down to the mat below. No damage but message received.

I cut a shallow dado coupled with two through mortise & tenons. Dado cut with making knife and chisel, later cleaned up and made uniform with router plane. Not being pleased with the fit of the shelf in the dado i framed it with small sticks of mystery wood.

I beveled the shelf as i have seen done on tabletops. I wanted to see if i could accomplish it to a satisfactory degree and i am happy with the outcome.

Finished with BLO and then in the end ruining it by stabbing two torx head screws through it to attach it to the wall (they are not even symmetrically positioned).

As always, all comments, critiques, suggestions, threats and fits of pointing and laughing are welcome.

Thanks for having a look.
